Frankhan, a Levantine building from the early 20th century in Karaköy, originally served as accommodation for merchants during a period of significant maritime trade. Today, this two-part structure has been reimagined as an event venue. The main hall features wooden prisms meticulously optimized for acoustics and lighting, while the second, smaller hall offers a more compact, performance-focused spatial design. This venue has been thoughtfully transformed into a multi-layered and enigmatic project, perfectly aligned with Karaköy’s unique character, to serve both artists and art enthusiasts. This project is a collabration with Teğet Architectural Office. Photographs taken by Cemal Emden.
