Akbank İzmir Private Banking establishes a strong relationship with its urban context in Konak, facing St. Polycarp Church, while translating this openness into an inward-oriented spatial experience. Inspired by the central atrium typology of ancient Pompeian houses, the project reinterprets this spatial memory within a contemporary banking program. A gradually narrowing entrance sequence leads visitors into a double-height atrium conceived as an interior plaza. Meeting rooms and offices are organized around this void, ensuring visual and physical continuity. Wooden surfaces, terrazzo flooring, and integrated artworks reinforce material refinement, spatial depth, and a balanced dialogue between public representation and privacy.
